Piel De Sapo (aka Christmas Melon or Santa Claus Melon) is a beautiful melon from Spain! The name Piel De Sapo originated from it’s unique, striped and irregular green skin and directly translates to “toad skin”. The fruit are 8-12 inches long, oval-shaped, and range from 6-10 pounds with a green/white flesh and a sweet delicate flavor. Though they are not as well known in the United States these melons are popular world wide and a fantastic late season treat and are often picked in late fall and eaten during the winter!
