Pasilla Bajio is an exotic Mexican pepper whose name translates to “little raisin”! Long, slender, slightly curved, deep green peppers ripen to a unique brown color when fully ripe! They’re only mildly hot, averaging between 1,000-5,000 Scoville units and have a complex and smokey flavor. They are perfect for making mole, salsas, drying, or any kind of cooking
****Hot peppers can be tricky to germinate and grow at home even under ideal conditions. Germination usually takes 1-3 weeks, but can take as long as a month. Maintaining high soil temperatures is extremely important and we strongly recommend using a heating mat. The federal germination standard for peppers is 55%, though all of our varieties are well above that. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to us. We are always happy to help!
